INTER CLUB – SUMMER HOCKEY INFO
What is Summer Hockey: With a large emphasis on fun, social & fitness benefits. Summer Hockey is a 7 or 8 A-Side competition (depending on numbers) played on a modified, smaller field with modified rules. With a large emphasis on fun, social & fitness benefits.
Who Can Play: It is suitable for school age and above, and all skill levels, whether you want to learn a new skill or just keep fit in the off season. So Bring your friends, bring your family Old players new players everybody is welcome.
What time & Where will we Play: Wednesday nights at the WORLD Centre from 5.30 pm for a 6pm or 7pm start. It will depending on participant’s numbers and field/ umpire availability. For times.
Will we need umpires: Yes we need umpires. We will have some available from Bairnsdale hockey club but we will need more. If you would like to learn umpiring without the pressure of the Winters Season – this is your chance to learn in a fun and social way.
Equipment Needed: – a stick, shin guards, & mouth guard. Coloured Shirt ie; Red
Modified Rules: – Depending on Number participation these rules may change.
In passed years we have played an open age game so that means there are big kids and little kids all playing on the same field. so we put rules in place for the little kids
- No Hitting – pushes and slap shots only
- Big kid/ little kid – Players of better skill aren’t allowed to take the ball of the new players they must let them attempt to play the ball
- Parents rule – No child can tackle their parent when they have the ball however if the parent thinks they can take their child on then by all means go for it.
- Scoring – Players cannot go from one end to the other to score a goal it must touch a teammates stick before being award a goal
- All other rules remain the same.
REGISTRATION INFO
Cost: HV have release a summer rego fee:
New Players Seniors $15.00
New Players Jnr $ 10.00
These fees will be open from September to November 2015 and players will be covered to March 2016. Current HV register players will remain covered (no more to pay) I believe – will confirm.
Club Fees – $ 15.00 Snr $10.00 Jnr. – $ 50 per family (max of 6)
